Jack`s Country Restaurant in Des Moines

The food has gone down hill..

Locals seemed to love the joint. Oil paintings were cool. Server was slammed but kept my Coffee full. Bacon/Ham omelette was unremarkable. Not the cleanest place. People were friendly.

Great food, wish they would clean though pretty dirty.

I love little mom and pop restaurants over the chain restaurants. This was my first time here and I was truly impressed. I had the eggs and chicken fried steak. It came with toast and hash browns. Everything was hot when it was brought to the table and it was very good and filling. Service was spot on and coffee was constantly refilled. The price was extremely reasonable for 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees. I will definitely be back!!

Nice little hole in the wall comfort food type place. Consistently have good meals there. Nothing fancy but always good.

My husband and I went to Jacks country restaurant for the first time and we really enjoyed our meal. The waitress was very friendly and we really liked the way that her and the cook knew everyone that came in by name. This place will definitely become a regular place for us to eat.

Long time, local favorite place for breakfast and lunch. They'll prepare to-go orders, and are quick with their coffee refills, if you're dining in.

It was a good little restaurant. The service was fast and friendly. The food taste great. They sell breakfast and comfort food. But they close early in the afternoon. It's a good place for breakfast and lunch deal.

A well-run and friendly business, the breakfast I had was okay but quite underseasoned. The biscuit is rather on the doughy side, but most folks don't seem to really know how to make a decent biscuit. I suspect the dough was kneeded a bit too much. The peppers and onions in the hash-browns were a pleasant and unexpected addition, and they were cooked perfectly. Nice and crisp.The chix fried steak was underseasoned, as was the sausage gravy. Wouldn't take much more than a pinch of this or that to improve things a lot.My friend said her waffle was very good.

Chicken fried steak was amazing. Their prices are very affordable, everything is under 10 dollars. Highly recommend if your around the Des Moines area, and are looking for country style breakfast food.

Small, inviting, personable neighborhood eatery with good, home-cooked food that's tasty and hearty. People are nice and accommodating. Lots of regular patrons who enjoy that homey, comfortable feel. My mother and I felt comfortable, and enjoyed the atmosphere and food, and people! :)

Great place. Had a late lunch of all you can eat fish and chips. Great food, great service.

Food with Super Fresh and cooked well. Wish that they were open on on the weekends.They also have an excellent rating. I could see why everything seems to be super clean. The interior is a little bit small but comfy and you don't feel like your crowded in.

Update: Aww this place is closed on weekends. Will you ever open during that time again? Quaint little diner with a friendly atmosphere and warm people. Will certainly be making this place a regular in the future.

I actually worked there off and on for 8 years and I loved working there because of our customers. Great people come yo eat there. The owners are great too. The main server who is an owner works very very hard and is great at her job. There are some things I wish they'd change but overall it's a great place to eat at.

Best Resteraunt within 5 miles of Normandy Park and Des Moines .. Food, service and price are second to none .. if u are hungry and live close by and are looking 4 a Go 2 Diner .. this is THE PLACE .. if there is better, let me know ?? .. if you are going 2 or from Seattle Tacoma International Airport and need a place 2 grab a quick bite this place is #1

Good place for breakfast. Ckicken fried steak is good. If I remember they're closed Sunday so call first. Haven't been there for dinner.

There's a genuine local diner feel inside, the portions were very generous, and the scramble I had was phenomenal. I wasn't sure what to expect on my first visit, but it's very likely to become my new favorite local diner.The prices were great, especially considering the size of the portions, the folks working were great, and I can't wait to go back for breakfast again.

An amazing place to have a meal. The service is excellent. Especially if you are an introvert. They dont hover over you. The food is wonderful. I've gone several times and each time I order something new and delicious.

It's always a down home feeling here at Jack's. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast can get busy though.

I grew up in this area, was a staple when I was in high school. Now that I'm an Ocean away I still remember this place fondly. I go by there every chance I get when I go back to America to visit.Great food, great people. Just that classic feel of nostalgia. Don't expect it to be some fine dining or fancy gentrified place that Seattle is becoming. Just good food, a smile, a cup of coffee and a good stop before you go down to the Marina to go fishing at 5 am.Glad to see they stayed successful and still serve the Des Moines area.
